SYNPO Research Institute, a. s., Pardubice, Department of Evaluation and Testing, assessed the expected service life of coating systems under outdoor exposure conditions and confirmed in the attached certificates the high service life of commonly available topcoats, applied on CREPEX® anti-corrosion coating, for 15 years or more, in the environment of C3 and C4 corrosion aggressiveness. After tear and grid tests were performed, the CREPEX® coating remained intact on the tested surfaces. On the samples provided to SYNPO Research Institute, the application of CREPEX® coating was overcoated with various freely available cover paints. Further tests are currently being prepared to test the most suitable cover paints for each specific application, according to the needs of customers from different sectors, which together with CREPEX® will form the optimal coating system for selected applications and material types (iron, steel, aluminium, zinc, copper, etc.). The manufacturer of the selected coating paint can also be listed in the lifetime certificate of the coating system, which is the only one in the world that provides the corrosion protection described above, and therefore a worldwide tender is also being considered.
