It is not always practically possible to treat corrugated sheet roofs that are already rusting with the help of currently available protective coatings and their application methods, due to the complicated, very laborious and sometimes impossible removal of adhesive rust on the corrugated profile. The chemical reaction taking place after the application of CREPEX® coating consumes the adhesive rust, forms a protective film containing an excess of the active ingredient, which is molecularly bonded to the substrate to be treated and which prevents further corrosion from occurring and spreading. Even after mechanical damage to the roof, corrosion and its further spread, i.e. under-corrosion from the damaged area, is prevented on this passivated and stabilised surface.
When thermal insulation is applied to production halls and buildings that require higher vapour permeability, the condensation of moisture increases the value of the corrosion aggressive environment also from the inside, i.e. in the premises themselves. This requires, especially for sheet metal roofs, the highly effective and efficient double-sided corrosion protection that a coating system based on CREPEX® corrosion protection coating provides.
